What are the opinions on this sub?
How does it compare to the W7?
I am thinking of one of them tunning off a PG 1200.1 so it should be getting around 800W

Very good subs man, Perform quite similar to the w7's with 500-600 watts. anything more i would reccomend the w7's if you were looking to stick with JL.

They have many similarities to the w7 and for lower power applications they are just awesome.

I would definately reccomend it to you.

You seem to like to upgrade a lot Greg. Are you sure you won't decide to do the same in a month or two with this sub? I'd say just save up and get a 12W7.

Well, i've got the 10w6v2 and am very happy with it. It's in a sealed box running off 800 watts or so and sounds great. Awesome sq and gets pretty loud and low for a 10 too. Probably the best and loudest 10" i've had. Takes the power well too. I'd say go for it if you can get a deal on one. If not i would get something else like the newer elemental K.

Correction, what I meant to say was "one of the owners of the local shop put it in my car to test it out, left it there, gave me an insanely low price on it and said pay for it when you can". I thought my 12w3 was a good sub, but this is a marked improvement. I run it off a JL 500/1.

You're using a sealed box right!?! Did you use the recommended volume and box size from the manuals? I have a 12W6 v.2 and wondered if I should play around with the box size instead of just relying on JL's recommendations.
