15 inch BOSS subwoofer 2500watt - need opinion

http://cgi.ebay.ca/BOSS-P156DVC-15-2500-WATT-DVC-CAR-AUDIO-SUBWOOFER-NEW-/120670339404?pt=Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=ite m1c1883414c

would you recommend this subwoofer?
it's 2500watt (which is more by 500watt then my alpine type r 15')
will it go well with jbl gto 700.1 amp?

Just a question. Is the only reason our looking into this sub is because you want an extra 500 watts? Is your alpine still playing fine? Cause you wont get any more wattage to it unless you have a bigger amp to push it. If there is no power there for the sub then you wont notice a different in either sub really.

Or do you know all this and your amp is too big for your sub? Alpine is a high brand name then Boss. I would stick with your alpine IMO. If its working fine and the amp is pushing max watts to it anyways you wont gain at all.

Type R's don't take 2000 watts. They take 500 or something like that. What you want to look at is the RMS rating of the subwoofer, not the max or peak rating.

And no, I would not recommend this subwoofer.

i wont buy another type r cuz it cost a lot brand new.. and i bought mine of someone with an amp and box included for $300! yes, 300. it worked perfect for a year and it could go longer if i changed the setting which were boosted up all the way cuz i never bothered to change them

You get what you pay for. Increase your budget and stop buying subs off ebay and get something worth the money, or buy number 2 and tell us how it goes.
