2 Alpine questions from a newbie. Any help is very appreciated.

1) What Alpine head units have 2-line displays that can display artist/album informartion (or artist/track) simultaneously. Apparently this is an issue in that most don't utilize both lines of the display. The 9835 seems to and I've read it does a good job of browsing through and iPod's contents. Do any other headunits do a better or comparable job, excluding the large LCD multimedia displays.

2) When, normally, do the new Alpine headunits come out during the year? around CES, Autumn, etc.

Thanks in advance.

I'm also a newbie interested in the iPod feature. The Alpine website mentions that head unit memory capacity limits quantity of playlists, artists, albums and songs to 509 or 511 (for playlists, artists and albums) and 255 for songs. These lists need to be optimized. Seems to me if you have a 10,000 song iPod it would be nice to be able to display more than 255 songs. Am I missing something here?

9831 only has one line, meaning it can only display one or the other.
That was my main gripe when I had this unit.

Pioneer will have an I-Pod adapter coming out in March. I've not yet heard all the details but I do know that it works through the IP-Bus cable (meaning that it's backwards compatible to '94).
I'm sure functionality will vary with head unit models. I will know more after CES.
