280zx turbo datsun sound system

Good day to all the knowledgable people . I need some sound advice on components and combinations for a sound system in my Datsun 280zx.Im effectively a retard when it comes to sound systems ,I know nothing,I don't understand 3way speakers ,2 way speakers ,RMS,OHM's and what they mean in speakers ,wire gauge requirements going with watts output etc etc.The only thing I can say is I have a budget of 2500$ for the sound system. The car has a cheap alpine radio that I hate, it has no sub woofer, two 6x9s that are stock, and 51/2 fronts that's it.
What I don't want to happen is what I constantly see on Honda civics driving down the street where you can't even tell what song is playing because the bass is unbolting the car.My tastes in music are not dance music or rave.I enjoy some rap/hip hop/rock and roll and the odd songs like the skyfall song in James Bond etc.I detest unclear speakers ,cracking and distortion.
So with that said and tips on what combo and equipement,? I'd be willing to go 3000$ if the sound was truely pin dropping. Clear. With the car having t-tops ,clear audible music is a challenge

Really, since you know so little about it, you might be best off to hit the dealers in your area, get quotes on gear including installation, and report back here with those quotes for some critiquing.

If I was planning something for this car it would be a nice set of 2way components for the front end, a 4channel amp to run them, a 10" sub in a small enclosure, an amp to run it, and then whatever headunit has the features you want. I'd forget about rear speakers but if you are hellbent on them then get the same brand as the fronts, no amp for these.

To help with your budget:
Deck: $250-300
Front Speakers: $500+
Front Amp, 50-100watts x 4: $2-300
Sub Amp, 500-600watts: $2-300
Sub and box: $250-350
Install: $700-800
Install parts: $150

If you are pricing it up and you have funds left over, spend it on the front speakers.

Well, brands can be a personal thing but I'll give you my preferences for this system:

Amps - JL XD400/4 and 600/1 or Alpine MRX-F65 (or 35) and MRX-M110 (or 55)
Sub - If you want a boxed woofer, the JL CP110-WØv3 single 10 in a vented box is nice. Pioneer makes a slimline 10 box too. Otherwise, a JL 10 in a decent small vented box would be my call. It depends on how much power the sub amp you buy has to what level of woofer to buy.
Speakers - this is the hardest one because you have to listen to them and choose what you like. I would try to find Focal or Hertz, or the better JL or Alpine Type R speakers are decent too. There are many other good speakers too though.
