I just got these two amps (rockford fosgate 500bd's) and want to know if my single 12L7 will live with them powering it! I was going to hook my Kicker 400.1 to it and still have it but I traded a P3 1gig computer for them so I just couldnt say no! I have the Bass boost block and controller for the two amps and the sync cable to strap them together as well. Approxamatly what wattage will this make?

 

the wattage will depend on if your voice coils are 2 or 4 ohms

the L7 is dual 4 ohm

 

it'll be fine then, go for it!

 

are you hooking both amps to this L7, if you are only hooking 1 500bd it will be either 1ohm parellel or 4ohm series. the 500bd wil produce 500 watts 2ohm or about 300 watts 4ohm. with your sub its going to run 1ohm or 4ohm. 500bd's dont like 1ohm and arent rated for it, 4ohm which is not alot of power [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

Now what type of power can I expect from these 2 amps strapped together I have looked around for an answer but so far have been coming up with no answers! I did talk to the guy I got the amps from and hes said that he has powered the same 2 500bd's for the last 1.5 years and that hes been running them at 2 ohm. during that time he has had no problems (he was powering 2 Soundstream spl subs)
So after all that I will run them at 2ohm! and only worry about killing the sub!!!
