I did this a little while ago but thought I'd post some pics for those who appreciate the beauty of this amp This is the one I got for wicked cheap but it had a BAD paint job on it. Somebody caked on some black paint and it was all beat up looking. So I sanded that down to the bare aluminum in most spots, primered it in scratch-filler primer and sprayed it satin black. The primer made a nice pebble-grain effect when sprayed at 15" or so away.

Good ole Scratch Filler Primer from Canadian Tire This stuff covers and hides WAAYYYYYYYY better than just regular spray primer from there. Way better.

Be cautious though to give it at least a day or two before covering with color otherwise scratches that you are trying to fill might come back due to shrinkage.

what kind of paint did you use? Does it matter? I'm going to be repainting a couple amps and was just looking for some tips.

Just regular satin black spray paint. Nothing special.
