4 channel amp question.

I am looking for a 4 channel amp that has a decent amount of power and have come down to a couple choices.

-Soundstream Reference 4.920
-Digital Designs DDC5b

I have no experience with either company and my last 4 channel amp was a Helix Dark Blue and felt that I needed a little more than 70-60rms @ 4ohm.

Any opinions on either of these amps or even other amps that I could consider over these two?

These will be powering, depending on how stuff goes, either a 2-way RD Alpahs comps or 3-way set of RD Elite's....just need the 4" mids to stinking show up with the X-overs.....

Thanks!

I have the Eclipse XA4200 on sale right now, rated at 125w rms x 4. This amp is a great amp as well. I am the only Canadian dealer with this amp at the price indicated here on the forum.

Thanks I will look into it.

Does anyone have any input on the three amps so far in terms of quality and build?

In and around 5-$600 CDN is my limit....

Thanks!

There is a review on the Soundstream on DIYMA. Very positive comments.

Amp is a bit big but well designed.

Magazine review also posted on the Soundstream website

Sundown SAX-100.4 is a great amp for the pricing.
Very extensive crossover.
It is a little on the large side, but it makes the power.

Another amp came up in discussion with PoundThatSound Trevor:

Exlie XI800.4

Anyone familar at all? As you can tell I have no idea what amp to look for and I'm very open to ideas but still leaning towards the Soundstream amp personally but the thing might be to large, not sure yet.

I'm really happy with the Xi 800.4's
it's a bit heavier built and more solid than the SS IMO

I'm running mine in two channel bridged (400w rms x 4) and crank them non stop
with no issues at all..the class a/b triple darlington design has really good output
and the sound quality is really tight and transparent...the sound floor is non existant
evn with the 1600w rms I'm pushing to my components
