Is 4 gauge to 8 gauge amp kit sufficient?
Hey guys,
just noticed this when I bought it yesterday that my amp kit has a 20ft power wire from 4 gauge to 8 gauge whereas I thought I was getting a 4 gauge 20 ft cable. I wanted to know if the kit I got would be okay for my setup. Basically I have a 4 door civic EX sedan and will have 2 12" MTX subs with a 2 CH Sony Xplod amp (1200 watts peak, 500 RMS mono). I also have a Power Acoustik 1.5 farad capacitor. So is what I have currently (4AWG to 8) sufficient or should I got for something that is 20ft 4 gauge straight? |
Well first off, how long is the 4 gauge part? and how long is the 8 gauge part?

Just use the 4 gauge if you really want to. Your car is plenty short enough. But your amp doesnt look like it takes too much power, so it should be able to handle the 8 feet of 8 gauge ontop of that. |
Man you want the 4 guage i have 2 of those amps and they suck the power the thicker the wire the better
|
sounds like you got a multi amp kit

I would suggest getting a short piece of 4 ga ground if that is the case, it's always best to have the same size ground as your positive. |

is it the scoshe kit from Wallyworld if so the ground is only 8 gauge and the power is 4.
