im returning my RF 2chan...
im going with one of the following 2 setups...
to power my components(165v2s) and a single DVC sub (33 v2)

1. A single XA5000 eclipse 5chan..
ECLIPSE by Fujitsu Ten
that should give me everything i need... SQ and enough power
50wrms x 4 @4ohm for my comps + rear fill and 450wrms x 1 @2ohm for my sub

or..

2. An Audison Srx2 for my components (deck pwr for rears) and an Audison Srx1 for my sub
65wrms x 2 @4ohm and 350wrms x1 @ 2ohm for my sub

both options are the same price.. so $$ isnt an issue

 

The eclipse amps look nice, but Ive always wondered why they rate their power at 14.4 volts and 1% thd?

Compared to another brand of amp that may do the same power at 12.5 volts and 0.05% thd, it sure doesnt seem like a selling point for eclipse.

What kind of price range are you looking at? I am sure there are other options but the audisons do seem pretty nice.

Why are you returning the RF?

Personally I'd be keeping the higher powered 450.2 and matching up a P325.1 or preferably the 600.1BD for your sub. The headroom is a good thing.

 

ok.. ive made up my mind... i returned the RF 2 chan and got a RF 4chan
p450.4 and a p325.1 for my sub... couldnt pass up the deal... $299 for the p450 and $210 for the P325.. i might take a hit on SQ but it shouldnt be too bad

 

Are you running the P450.4 bridged into the Focal 165V2? It so that's 225W per channel. Let us know how it goes.

 

actually im gonna run the 4chan to also power my rear fill... even though the amp specs say 60wrms x 4 its build sheet says it makes 102wrms x 4 at 14.4v... should be right on target for what the v2's need
