its 6.5" from hole to hole on the speaker and like 7" from hole to hole in the door. should i make some brackets or something? How do you guys do it?

MDF ring mounted to the door with a cutout for the 6.5" speaker.

1/2" MDF ring and some type of gasket to seal the speaker & MDF to the door.

ohh right ...simple yet effective...
however, sealing wouldnt do too much...my door arent sealed anyway...there are many holes in the framework as it is.

or goto any install shop that sells alpine, there is an adaptor in every 6.5 box...they probably have a few extras...
