6x9's for midbass?
I had the pods seeled originally. defro conviced me to open them up into the doors. When they were sealed they were quite a bit punchier but had no lower bass what so ever. They also had a nasty effiency spike around the 300Hz area, didn't sound to good. I would like to build a ported enclosure or a larger sealed but that is impossible without destroying the door panel. I've pretty much done what I can with the font speakers. This is why I have a bad feeling about putting 6.5 midbass in the rear deck IB. I don't think they are gonna give me very much output.

what about a larger midrange/midbass in your doors maybe going to a 6.5", unless the sealed box is big enough you will pretty much always get bad sound, so ib probobly best here unless you plan on some major mods, why not just get a bigger front speaker. just an idea
The thing is I prefer the sound of a mid when it's crossed over fairly high. I usually crossover my mids at about 200-250. I prefer the sound of a 5 1/4 over 6 1/2. I think I'll experiment with a cheap set of 6x9's or 6.5's in the rear deck and if it sounds like poo no big deal. If it sounds good i'll invest in a proper set of 6.5" midbass. Thanks for all the help guys, i'll let you know how it turns out.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why did you even bother asking our opinions? You seemed to be pretty stuck on your whole 6x9 thing no matter what advice you recieved. No offence, but I think the money spent on 6x9's is a true waste. That money can be put towards a good set of dedicated mid bass drivers, which from what you described, is what you need. Just my thoughts.
I don't plan on using the 6x9's permenantly. I've got an old set of JBL's that i'll plop in there. I wanna find out things like if my image is gonna be affected, if the subs will affect them in an IB. Once I determine those things i'll go out and get a proper set of midbass speakers. I don't want to shell out $200 for a good set of speakers just to bring them home, spend a bunch of time customizing my rear deck and then finding out that my image is destroyed. I'd rather waste a little money than a lot. I value your guys opinions, i just have never used a midbass driver before and would like to know which drivers are good and which are bad. Is the kicker RMB6 good? Is the image dynamics good? Audiobahn? Or any others that i might not know about. Thanks
I have been happy with the sound out of my Orion MB6's for several years now. I have an extra set of the MB8's as well, still waiting to use those ones somewhere....
I believe Orion is still making them....

The Cadence ones I posted above are killer, and if you can't find them locally, I know of an online place that deals with them also. http://www.aralex.com/ should be able to find a local dealer for you, hopefully.
