7 band eq increase bass?

7 band eq increase bass?

i was wondering if a clarion EQ S746 would increase my bass at all some people say it helps some dont. I found a cheap one online but is it worth buying running a soundstream pcx 2000d mtx rfl 15

no eq increases bass, some may add bass but not increase. Thats why you don't see SPL guys using eq's. If you want to increase bass get a bigger amp or use a ported box

In order for an EQ to add bass you have to have the power to back up the boost. Everytime you add 3dBs of boost you have to have double the power available from your amps to prevent the signal from clipping. They are useful at low volume settings to adjust for uneven response and to tailor the sound to your liking (this is because you still have lots of headroom in your amp to deliver the power needed for the boost), but as T money stated, it will not increase the max output (spl)of your bass. The only way to do that is more power into a subwoofer that can translate the extra power into air displacement, or to use a sub design that is more efficent (ported, passive radiator, compound etc..)
