8 inch sub

Hi

I already own a brand new in the box Alpine MRP-M450 Mono Amp. Its rated 220W x 1 @ 4 ohm. I dont need or want BIG bass and i have very little space so i want an 8 inch.
Future shop has a Infinity Reference 8 inch that is rated 250W for $99.00.
What do you think?
thanks
J

Looks like a nice match for your amp......spec sheet says only .35cuft for sealed......hmmm......if you got 2 of them you can probably find .7cuft of space for them and they would still be a nice match for your amp.....

It's always better to have a little too much thud in reserve if you need it than to run out at a critical moment......

HTH

The reference 850W is a good little performer.
works well in small sealed, and better in a ported box.
and doesnt need huge power either

there is also the JBL GTO 804 which gets great reviews. It must be almost the same as the Infinity Reference cause they are both made by Harmon, right?

Same woofer, different badging. and they are OK.. for a good priced 8" that works really well, Kenwoods slim fit bugger does a good job.

I pulled the trigger on the JBL GTO 804.
Received it yesterday, quite heavy for such a small speaker.

Would you guys suggest a sealed or ported box?
Also, is there a good place in Montreal to buy sub boxes?

Thanks
J

Ported if you want any kind of reasonable output from that sub.
