8" Midbass Drivers

So my Kicker RMB8's have bit the bullet.
What would you guys suggest for 8" midbass.

Couple of things be for you fire off ideas:
1) They must be shallow (no more than 2.5" deep)
2) They must be able to handle 175Watts RMS

Thanks

I'm interested in the answers to this thread too... I could definatly use a couple of shallow 7-8" midbass drivers

are you actively crossing them over? or using the XO's that came with the set? because that would greatly affect which drivers you could use...

Mark

The RMB8's that I am using are not part of a comp set.
They are strictly Midbass, 61hz-250hz.
Actively crossed using my Alpine PXA-H701.

I think thats answers the questions so far, any more?

i think you'll be happy with the Morel 8's. i love mine. however, i doubt they will stand up to the type of use that would kill a pair of rmb8's...

I think it was a defect from the get go.
One of the RMB8's works great and gets plenty loud, the other gets a certian volume, and seems to dead short. Puts the amp into protection.

Its hard to explain, I never crank up my tunes, 22 on the volume max (full tilt is 35)
gains are only like half way, no clipping (i have checked with a scope)
but its still strange.
I'd just like to replace them, i'm leaning towards the SSMB8 since i know it will handle the power and they are nice and shallow.

I just wish Focal made a set of 8" midbass drivers in the KP series (I have the 100KP for my highs right now)
