Getting ready to help a buddy put a deck in a 94 golf and thinking about where to grab constant power. Was wondering if the lighter was a good idea, or should I try to grab it from the ignition. If all else fails I will go straight to the battery.

also can you wire into the fuse block on these cars?

I was under the impression from reading other threads that golfs did not have constant power at the deck?
WTF not I am confused.
And I can not use a harness on this job the guy that owned the deck befor him snapped the factory harness and tossed it.

I just ran wiring directly from the battery in my Jetta, seeing as the previous owner butchered all the stereo wiring.

got it done, was not as bad as I thought.
Checked the back of the lighter to find out constant, ignition and ground, from there finding speaker leads was easy.
