If you guys want perfect specs for a trituned enclosure or (abc box) The guy that actually came out with that design is Pez from Korbon Trading and they own Megahertz they build and sell trituned boxes. That's where we get them for our store..

When I relocated to BC and met 'Pez' we were both happy to see that we each appreciated he 'dual chamber reflex' box design and I built and sold a ton of them. Pez's pet name for the box is TriTune and he used to sell them in his old box line as well, before MegaHertz.
When I finally got my *** online in 1996 I exposed the design on TermPro and worked at popularizing it. I at that time coined the term 'ABC' box (there's two reasons - anyone know them?
) and a few hardcore posters at TermPro embraced the design and made a lot of yak about it. Now, 7 years later, most people on the boards know or have at least heard of the 'ABC Box'. This four year old post still keeps popping up about it in fact and it only talks about the original posts: http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bi...c;f=8;t=000451Based on your location, I assume you work for North Shore - next time you talk to Pez, tell him Paul from Abby says "HI". I really should phone that guy, it's been a while..

Thanks Dukk, it's cool to hear the history of it. I'm sure a lot of car guys have books on the history of a certain car or brand that is informative and enjoyable to read. Having the same for car audio could be profitable. Ever thought of that?

I have it on good authority that the letters stand for:
Aperiodic

I'm pretty sure there are more questions around those boxes than any other item you can put in a vehicle...wonder how long the thread on termpro will last...

I was going to say that the enclosure had been around a long time.. I borowed one of the Megahertz enclosures a while back to try it out, it was a wedge-style for a truck.
What I heard was a long delay in output (ie: slow and sloppy) and excellent physical power handling.
As I recall, and it's been a while, there should be three nodes (resonances) in the enclosure.
I remember messing around with a design for these back in the early 90's for my 323, but 6 cubes was more than I was willing to give up at the time.
Anyways, with the excursion capabilities of todays woofers, the extra resonance nodes for increased physical power handling aren't worth the degradation in sound quality for me.
