Advice needed for Mazda 3

I have a brand new 06 Mazda 3GT and dont want to put a deck in quite yet but I do want to put a sub and amp in the trunk. I live in Fort McMurray and I got an estimate from a local shop and they want just over $1000 for a 10" Clarion PXW1052 with a CL, APX1300 amp. I don't know that much about car audio but to me that seems a bit high. Any suggestions as to what I should be buying? I want some good bass without buying a deck.
Thanks

if you check smartass's website at the right side, you'll find both those items for under $380.00. The estimate seems a little high to me, even with a box, wiring, and taxes. I would say around 700.00 is reasonable, with that equipment, sub, amp, box, wiring, loc, and install.

Just did a 06 Mazda3 yesterday for that matter. Send me your e-mail and I'll show you a pic of the high quality speakers you have in there (or lack thereof). You have lots of options for your Mazda depending on the budget that you have. If you want to spend a g note, there are more options available to you that will provide you with a far better outcome. Check out the lines I deal in my sig (and others that I have not listed). If this interests you (and a deal of course), send me a PM.
