Alpine 2007 5.25" Type-R's

Hey guys,

Just wondering what I should go with. The component or coaxial version of the new 5.25" Type R's from Alpine?

I'll be placing them in custom kick panels (made by me). Is there that much difference in sound quality? It would be a lot easier, and cheaper to stick in the coax's rather than the components.

Just looking for some advice here.

amen to the last two comments, if you beginners out there dont get into the habit of supporting your local shops you will all be screwed, cuz your never going to be able to hear speakers before u buy them if u keep bying crap online! support your local vendors and they will support you.
on another note, you will get better sound from the component set due to better crossovers and the ability to change the mounting position of the tweeter. have you considered other mounting optons for the tweeter besides the kicks??

Sounds like Ill be going with components.

I'll place the tweeters in the kick panel too. There's really no place else to put them, within range if I put the woofer in the kicks. I might get away with sticking them in the door, but that would be pushing it, distance wise.

Now I just need to find someone around here who carries the new Alpine line. Im in the Owen Sound area.
