I'd go with the one i like better.

 

The Alpine 9835 is just the newer version of the 9815. They're basically the same except for the display. I owned the 9835 and it is a nice HU. It would be my choice over the Kenwood as it has better tunability features. It also looks a hell of a lot better if that matters to ya.

 

If you are going to amp your fronts and subwoofer -- Kenwood's superior preamp voltage (not just spec, but actual output) will make a great difference.

 

i loved my 9815 when i had it.
had every single feature you could want minus high volt preout (4 volt)

very good for the money if you can get one cheap enough

 

Pre amp voltage won't make a bit of difference.
I have a 9835. The only major thing I don't like about it is the user interface, buttons doing multiple things depending on how long you hold them. I preferred the Premier 860mp I previously had.

 

ya i just got the 9856 and i dont like the menu either

 

9835, tons of features and looks wicked. My favourite alpine mp3 compatible deck (new era).

 

Cool guy's thanks. The reason i'm asking is because i got the 9815 in the car now, and they Kenwood was in my other car, and i can get the 9835 for 100 bucks. So Alpine for sale. 250?
