Anyone used one, or own one around here?
I'm just curious if they're really worth it.
Is there a big diff between this alpine and let's say ohhh umm the Pioneer P940?

Alpine is good for decks. Reliable, crisp sounding, good features, decent usability. And NO CHEESE. Pricey though, for this model. If you want it all without paying an extra 2 grand for better DA's in the F1 setup, go for it. The 9813/15 shouldn't be too bad either.

I have the CDA-7998. It is a great head unit, I dont regret buying it at all. I also have the Pioneer DEH-P930 in my other car..........and thats a great HU as well. It's more flashy............but I find them both to be on par with eachother.

The Alpine does have better SQ than the Pioneer though.

If you dont want to spend all your money on the 7998.........your next best HU from Alpine to get would be the 9815...........which from my testing is the same HU as the 7998.......without the Phantom Face Feature.

Either way you'll be happy!!!!

Thanks again guys!
Well, I currently own a P940, and although I'm really satisfied with it, I'm thinking it's time for a change.
I really like the Phantom face feature which is why I was looking at the 7998.
