Alpine CDE-103BT

Just to let you know after around a month or so with no problems it started doing it again and quite frequently now. Now it appears if I leave the faceplate ON and turn the car off, when I go start the car again the sound is gone. Interesting to read others are having the same issue now, and I always play Mp3's off the USB port so I'm betting the problem is related to this. Of course the company that installed the deck won't be able to do anything at this point since it's been too long. What a horrible experience this has been, never again will I trust Alpine.

I've used an HP-branded PNY 1GB with no problems, but I've also not used that one as much, so I can't say it *won't* error. All my four loss-of-sound instances as well as drive-not-recognized and/or special-character-in-filename complaints have been with a 4GB Kingston DT Mini Slim, which (perhaps due to its small form factor?) also occasional requires several attempts to mount on my computers.

My details are in post #9 earlier in this thread, on page 1. It just happened again Saturday, my fifth incident in five months, again in USB mode, with the Kingston stick, when I turned my ignition from off to start without pausing in accessory. And I owe y'all thanks for identifying the POWER IC setting, because that allowed me to get sound back without hitting the reset button and losing all my settings, for the first time. Much obliged!
