A different Alpine question, but somewhat related to the original thread:

I have a 9845, with a front stage amp and a sub amp. Internal HU amp is Off
I noticed that around the volume of 23-26, the deck alters my bass treble settings.
If I have the treble set at +3, as I go past volume 25, I can hear that the processor is diminishing the increased treble settings that I have programed in - even though the settings on the screen stay the same. (It acts the same was as a factory stereo in my dads 95 Ford winstar - after a certain level it would ignore the bass treble settings to prevent distortion).

Is this common for Alpine HUs? It is not the amp, because it does this with my amp gains all the way down and with my gains 3/4 of the way up - always at the same volume. I talked with a salesmen where I bought it and he couldn't explain it.

Any thoughts, suggestions?

Seriously, you guys are going to spend that much on a deck and not read the freaking manual...It's there for a reason, especially with a high tech piece of equipment like any of those decks. I have a 9833 and a pxa-h701 with the rux controller and I can adjust anything on the fly if I need to...on both units! it's not that hard.

I say it's hard. Better yet it's ****in retarded.

And For the record, Not all people bought their decks brand new. Some may have came with the used car they purchased or some may have Purchased the deck used. Either way not everyone has got the Manual to read an learn about. Some people are stranded to figure these things out one step at a time and we come on these "Car audio forums" for advice not to have some douche bag tell us to "Read the Manual." So on that note, GO **** YOURSELF.
