Question Alpine PDX amp help...

im getting 2 pairs of Boston Acoustics Pro60's 6.5"... i wanna get a alpine PDX amp to power them n i was wrong about the power needed for my subs so i thought id ask wat PDX amp would power these best there 125 RMS. i was assumen id need the 4 channel 600Watt but as i said i've alrdy been wrong once thats why im askin. Thanx

If you're going passive you just need a two channel. If it's active you want you'll need four channels of amplification.

Use a healthy amount of power to make these speakers really come to life. If you're going active I would not recommend any less than 125rms per channel.

If you get the 2 chan you will be running it at 2 ohm stereo which will not give you much headroom, which might not be the best for sq. I would get the 4 chan, and then like mentioned you could be more versatile on your wiring/x-over options and you will have more control of the speaks at 4 ohm.
The PDX amps sound awesome BTW.

alpine pdx-2-150 will work well assuming you are using them in a passive set up.

so i should get the 4 channel PDX at 600watts and run them at 125 each or over power them a lil at 150 each? irly dont wanna blow 1200$ worth of speaks would extra 25watts hurt my babies?

if you're running them active, 125 watts into the tweets is a lot of power. Make sure you know what you're doing when setting it up. As far as 150 watts for the passive set up, shuldn't be a problem if you behave yourself with the gain and volume controls.

ima hook em up 2 1 pdx 4 channel 600watt "active" 125 each:P thanks erbody for the help i love this forum, people here are so much more helpful then the VWVortex one i go on for my Jetta question lol thanks again
