By reading the pic (if you have good eyes)
It says:
- Uni-Basket with integrated Venting System
- Terminal Block with Connection Jumpers
- High Amplitude multi-roll surround
- Carbon Fiber / Aluminum honeycomb cone

It also says that in the article that Dukk posted. All that eye straining for nothing

Oooooh
If only they made them in 15s.
They really throw me back to my Xmaxs too except for the nice, clean dished cone. But really, why is everyone getting those damn gigantic baskets? Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine (I guess the Stroker Pro too, and it is the ugliest of them all... thats saying a lot). I really don't think it is that necessary when there are other subs out there still using standard baskets with higher Xmax and less power compression then these wierd looking things. Not to mention it adds so much weight to the sub and requires bigger boxes too.
They also have the great Alpine price point. Only $450 US for a 12? Cha-ching! Although they mention an attached spec sheet that I would presume would have RMS power handling and XMax figures on their website, it is no where to be found. If this sub is anything like the Pioneer 2000SPL then holy, God, watch out

^ First the industry trained the consumer to assume a cast basket is superior to formed steel. Then when cast became common they trained the consumer to want unique ones and buy a woofer on basket cosmetics when 90% of them wind up magnet in on a conventional box anyway...

Interesting little side note. Had a customer come in this week with 2 Type R 12 DVC's in a custom box. He was not too happy with the amount of bass he was getting. We metered it on an old Audio Control RTA. It was hitting around 125db's, in a small sealed box. Running off of an MRD-500. We plugged in 2 **edit** well known brand-name **edit** 12's, same box, did not touch the gains at all, and these were brand new, not broken in yet. Hit 129db's. This box looked quite small, probably .75 per sub.
