Alpine vs JL

Hi I'm rather new to car audio and Im looking at doing my first build. I have an open back GMC Jimmy and plan to build a custom rear facing vented box to manufacturer specifications. I have an MTX 801D amp, and I'm looking at either running 2 DVC 2Ohm Alpine type-S subs, or 2 JL 10W1's. I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions on either or have experience with both? (I mostly listen to hip hop and house music) Thanks for the help!
(I'm looking for specific feedback relating to the 2 types of subs I realize there may be better at this price point yet, this is what I have at my disposal.)

I enjoy both of the subs, and you'll be happy with either of them.

I would nail it down to price.

Thanks, I'm running Component type R's in the front and type R's in the rear. Would this change anything? Thanks for the input.

Not really.

I'd probably go with the JLs. Just the way I am.

I think that JL would be my pick I always assosiate JL with quality I have never heard anything bad about, but alpine is deffinately more popular,
