Alpine W505 vs Pioneer Avic-Z1

Hey All, Noob here on the forums, and just had a quick question. I am looking into an indash unit to replace my current deck and was wondering which of these 2 were a better option, the alpine IVA-W505 or the Pioneer Avic Z1.

What I'm looking for is a unit that would provide me with proper SQ, hopefully somewhat of an upgrade to what I am currently running.

My set up as it sits now is a Pioneer DEH 7800MP, with MTX TDX6502 6.5" in my front doors, MTX TDX6902 6x9s for my rear deck and a 12" Infiniti.

Any info would be greatly appreciated and if you have any recommendations to any other in dash navi units I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks

By the way the car in question is a 2002 Nissan Altiima non-bose.

If you want a alternative that is in my opinion superior, the Eclipse AVN726e is the way to go. The Alpine is a nice unit until you have to add the Blackturd to it for navigation. The Pioneer unit is long discontinued now.

As an owner of the AVN726e, I will say it is a nice all in one unit with an excellent layout and every option you could need. From a sound quality aspect only it is lacking.

Having had a 5 year old AVN5435 installed for about 2 months and then switching over to the AVN726e, both me and my installer {who is well regarded on these forums} noticed the major drop in sound quality.

When I came in to pick up my car it was the first thing he mentioned to me. Now after alot of tweaking and tests I have it to a point were I am happy, however I feel that is more likely the fact that months are passing and I am slowly forgetting how much better the other deck sounded.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I actually ended up picking up a Pioneer Premier AVIC F90BT Updated to the 3.0 AVIC X910 software.

Well im sure you would be happy to know that they discontinued the blackbird a year ago and there is a better nav system for alpines now. And theres also a deck a step above the 505 with that superior nav built in.
