alternator whine.. killing me

so i'm dying with my car.
two weeks ago i pulled out my comps and installe a new set, created spacers and pop'd them in.
since then i've had alternator whine and its killing me.
i have since regrounded my deck to a better spot, cleaned down and bolted on.
power and RCA"s are on opposite sides of the car
i reran my ground wires from amps to my ground distro, and new ground spot, again sanded down and no contaminants.
i also had shortened my speaker wire when i wired in my new x-overs.

i'm at a total loss for what else it can be.

any help would be grealy appreciated.

look at your speakers and make shure they are not touching the chassis in any way and the same with your x over if any component is going back to ground it will do that

ok that makes sense, i remember the baskets being quiet close to the door when i installed them.
i know the x-overs are no where near anything as they are attached to my amp rack.

so if the speakers are touching chasis in any way it'll cause the whining?

I'll have to check this out when i get more time to look at it again.

sounds like a blown Alt., the are diodes and stuff inside the Alt. and if they are gone, nothing will get rid of the whine but a new Alt.

Just try it, got to bone yard and get a used Alt., install it and try it out,, if it still whines, then just take it back for a refund.

Also, disconnect your Alt. from your battery, but not the belt, if you still have whine, it's def the Alt.

alt

make sure you have a good charge on the batt first. then take the out put wire off the alt that goes to the battery so that the car is just runnin off the battery and if the noise goes away that yea its the alt i have seen alts that go bad sooner then that like think about it honda makes millions of cars a year one out of a million will have a bad alt.. but its all about the warr..

No one has mentioned the DECK! The same thing happened to me last summer and i too went crazy finding the problem...you grounded he deck but did you ground the PRE OUTS? try that, take a piece of wire, touch the metal part of the RCA when its connected to the preout and then the other side to the decks body and if the noise is gone its the deck!

BTW is the deck a pioneer?
