o i was gonna say preouts, still try grounding the rca coming from the preouts to the deck shell..if it fixes it, its the preouts. same thing happen to me.

I too had a pioneer deck that needed to be grounded out by the rca's to function.

About your eclipse though... i've got a cd8053 with 16v balanced output, and i recently had the same problem. If everything is good, then maybe you should try grounding the rca's. I've never heard of eclipse being bad though, been with them for my last 6 HU's. I've got an upgraded alternator, but even when that was put in I didn't have that problem, until now. Check all your grounds again, I just installed a new amp for my components and found mine to be not as good as they used to be.

you have a loop between signal ground and power ground and there are only a few ways to fix it.... and I have honestly never seen anything mentioned thus far solve squat....

best bet is get an isolated dc/dc supply for your deck and any active processors you use... Digikey has a 12V 10A unit for $106 usd or you can probably build your own for under $50... failing that a good quality 'ground loop isolator' can be used in the signal path.... (for starters look for one that uses a 1:1 transformer and NOT a choke) RF makes one and so do a few other companies.. Another cheap/easy solution is a choke on the grounds for your deck/processors..

its a simple. solution.....dustin.....canadian cory.....ross....sean ....seans wife...robert and willy and myself....all attended our seminar which clearly showed what you are encountering and how to resolve your problem.......best suggestion i can give to you is bring it into a shop once you are done stabbing in the dark.....or make it out to the repeat of the the same seminar..coming very soon.....i know i know.. the wife and kids and alll...and i know iknow....the time and all.....sacrifice....is the only word that comes to my mind.

you are experiencing a gorund loop which is easier than Pi to fix.......3.14 and viola ...fixed

ugh...ground loops

i've never had the best luck easily figuring out how to solve a ground loop... that's why i'm stickin around here... for any easy ways.............................................. ..

its like trying to mountain climb without the proper equipment....you fall and kill yourself.....but if proper euqipment is used from the begining. and proper install techniques are used from the beginiing...keeping in mind that there are correct ways and improper ways to install....you end up with a noise free installl....

there are a million things that can go wrong...you dont just cut open a piece of wire and install it....it takes talent and common sense to make that installl proper....when in doubt get it professionally installed...by a knowledgable installer....if not.....youll be hitting and missing all day day and never get rid of it....and potentially you might burn your car to a crisp in doing so.....

Ok yeah, i know about installing, i was just wondering about a ground loop already present... my buddy's got a blazer with a bad ground loop (sounds like a huge supercharger) and we've been troubleshooting it for 2 days, I just gave him a nice pair of RCA's from my car that I never used, and he said it seems to have gone away. I didn't hear it yet but I thought you were saying that there was a sure-fire way to get rid of an already present ground loop.

Thanks alot man!
