So for those of you who don't know, my name is DaVibe and I run whatever is on sale. I have been a basshead for 24 years and owned a good chocolate chunk of equipment, and I would just like to say that these JL subs are amazing. I know I've been running these for a while but today solidified my love for these things.

I run Kenwood for power, sometimes Alpine and the subs seem to be hawt for it! These subs are honestly some of the greatest woofers I've ever had sex with. They're beefy, they're hard to put together and take apart. The w7 is AMAAAAAZING! I'm running 24 of them so things can get pretty loud, but I'm NOT EVEN GIVING THEM THEIR RATED RMS ... WHOAAAAAAAA
They're barely moving, Tupac and Biggie can attest to that.

I'm a Kicker lover having run a pair of CVR's for almost 4 years. Before that were some Xplods, after some 12" TFOnes. None of these come close to what these JL's can do. They're rated for 15rms and I'll be honest, my gain is all the way down and I already think these are outperforming anything I've run in the past ... musically of course and after I get proper power to them I'm sure they'll do well with DB Drag, IASCA, Bass Boxing, Bass Race and much more! The only issue I have is that they vibrate my chair in my caravan too much and now I need sound deadner.

For ALL YOU NEW GUYS looking for subs. JL w7, ALL THE WAY.

The preceding was not paid advertising and does not reflect the views or opinions of anyone other than me.

Hey, the only ones that were in crap boxes were the xplods and the 18''. But the 18'' wasn't all that bad either. The TFX's were in a nice box. The CV's were in a prefab box, but they did quite well in it, even won me a championship. This one does do much better on the lows though.

As for the surface area, while I'm not saying its not a factor Paul, like I said I don't have the juice to run at full tilt but for what I do have it does perform really well. By the time the season starts I'm hoping I'm gonna have enough to get them loud, and if anything call Murilo for some more power.

And DJ, this was all out of love for AB, just like my vids showing off the SD at work, plus to mention I learned how to say SounDigital Amplifiers in Portugese. I already speak English so I can't really learn anything new for AB. Maybe an accent though...

Honestly, I think you're expecting a spl-geared sub to perform musically and honestly, it makes a difference since the subs perform differently.

Even with a properly tuned box, the sub itself does not have the hz ability that other subs would. Plus a 18? Wow, no way.

Just my 2 cents ... Everyone does this audio thing differently.

Actually the 18'' wasn't all that bad on music. It was able to pick up lower notes better than my TFX's, but the box for the TFX's was tuned to like 40 hz, actually a bit higer. The TFOne was tuned to I think maybe 38 hz or so, but there was a definite difference in sound and tonal response, particularly at lower freqs.

The XFL's however are tuned lower than the 18'' was and they are a definite improvement on any setup I have run in the past. Not to take anything away from the TFOne, TFX or any of their AQ cousins, they're great speakers.
