Amp for 2 10" Alpine Types S's or 2 10" Type R's

Don't think of it as an extra $250, you will get your moneys worth in the long run. I say that as someone who has done it both ways, buying from a cheaper source and doing more myself, and paying the money to someone who could do something I wanted done but didn't have the time to do right.
I will be dropping into Radioactive at some point this week, I'll ask Lee what he can do for you for that $650 you mentioned...

For your budget, I'd suggest a single IDQ-V2-D4 in a ported box, run of the best amp you can get for a couple of hunge. I use the Fusion FPS-402 on a regular basis, and it's ideal as there is a built in SS filter.
The ported box will give you lots of gain, allowing you to save on amp/wiring etc., can be built with around 6 1/2" depth, and still leave room for the amp, and your washer fluid behind the seat.
With the limited space you have, you can go with twice as many subs, with 4 x as much power, and force em to go loud in small sealed designs, or go with less, but efficiently.

i just about puked out my nose when one of the chumps here said image dynamics had a flawless reputation, whoever said that must have been living on a different planet for the last decade, perhaps one of the most ill imformed piles of misinformation ive ever heard. it may have been the same rocket scientist that recommends buying car audio online, i wasnt paying that close attention, i was cleaning barf out of my nose

Space is definately my biggest concern. Im not to worried about having one or two subs because i dont keep anything else behind my seats, so i can dedicate the room back there for whatever i need. I know nothing about IDQ at all. Im not sure if it would be smarter for me to stick with a bigger brand name or what. Confusion

However the only thing i am slightly worried about is that the warranty on the products is through onlinecarstereo.com and not the manufacturer.
If you buy online out of the US, you have zero warranty in Canada. As you found out there is also zero warranty from the US manufacturer as well. This means that the http://www.trailerparkbobsdiscountau...awnbrokers.com site must provide you the warranty. So sure you can get a warranty from them, what if they cannot get the same sub anymore, now they switch you to a different sub that may not fit, rebuild the box as the subs are now different, pay for shipping back to them and then back to you again. Add customs and brokerage charges...all in all, it is a great way to save $150.00 right now by the looks of things, but in the long run it usually bites you in the ****. You work hard for your money, protect your investment. Send me a PM for more info if you are interested.

Yes there are a few more risks when dealing with online retailers which is why it is always best to do yuor homework on them. There are many great online retailers that have excellent pricing and great customer satisfaction.
And as far as the "buy from your dealer because the warranty is better and more reliable", how about the Lanzar 1200D that I bought new from my local dealer that spent more time in the shop than in my car? After 5 months I replaced it with a Memphis 1000D from omline (paid less than the cost of the Lanzar) and had no problems with it for the next year that it spent in my vehicle. My local shop sure was a big help there.
Like I said before, do this thread really need to be turned into another online vs local shop discussion?

I'm sure there's another thread somewhere on the subject, but since online US shopping was brought up, i'd like to share my experience.
I wanted to buy Canadain. I'm as Canadian as the next Hoser.
What sent me online shopping was the lack of availability in the canadian market, especially for specialty items.
I needed an Alpine KCA-410C switch for 2 changers. Apparently there aren't any in Canada, but they are in stock on the shelf at Crutchfield online. Pay extra for overnight delivery in you need it tomorrow. 2001 AV couldn't even get the alpine rep to call him back with a price.
I had a hard time finding a 2 way crossover. doesn't sound complicated to me. I wasn't particular about make.
I tried all the Big Box stores and 5 audio shops who specialize in Car Audio.
Some told me they could order one for me, but wanted paid full MSRP before they'd order it.
I bought my Kicker crossover for 79 US, no taxes, 9.00 delivery. Had to pay 15.00 custom fee.
So far, I haven't had any warranty issues with stuff bought on line. The trick there, is to buy quality products to begin with. I haven't had good experience with bought in Canada warranty anyway. But that's another story.
I did a search last saturday for Canadian online retailers. All the searching i did took me to US sites. E-bay Canada is a scam. It's just US shopping with Canadian dollar exchange.
Anybody know where i can buy online in Canada?

The prices even after exchange are so much better in the US. I wouldnt care so much if i had a full time job and didnt have to worry bout money so much, but thats not the case as i still go to school and work part time. Right now the $250 savings seem worth it. For the fact that i have never been through this is why im so interested in both opinions for and against the online purchasing. Thanks guys.
