The 400 was stable to 1ohm, the 400x is not.

why not contact the company that designs the amp, and ask them? with the amount of people who don't bother to read the manual that came with tier equipment, then ask obvious questions, I don't think it's too 'out there' to post a link to the products website... if it says right on it that it's 1 ohm stable, then why wouldn't it be?

not to be a smartass, but is it possible that you have a 400, and not a 400x? if it has "400X" printed on it, and you believe it to be a 400x, why wouldn't you believe that it's 1 ohm stable, since that's printed on there as well

Mark

US amps used the x designation for 4ohm stable amps. They might have used the wrong side cover from the regular 400 model on it.

So Mr Watson, the bottom line if it is the 400X then it is not stable to 1ohm just like the web site says.

Kinda like how the old chrysler town and countrys would say dodge caraven somewhere on the inside.

I would call and ask WTF....but my guess is both amps are 1ohm stable if the sticker says 1ohm stable...

looking up the data sheet for the outputs might be another hint
