Question Amp and Specs recommendation?

I have purchased on eBay a single Infinity Reference Series 1052W 10 inch subwoofer (DVC @ 4 OHMS each, 250 watts RMS, 1000 watts Peak) and at Future Shop a Bass Slammer sealed enclosure (.85 cu. ft.). I have a number of questions as to how to proceed from here. I am a newbie, so keep it simple, please. I am more interested in SQ than SPL. Here goes:
1) What gauge wire for the sub/box and box/amp connections?
2) What specs should I be looking for in an amp for this setup? Mono vs. 2-Channel? Class A-B vs. D? RMS/Peak Wattage for the 2 OHM load from the sub? Or should I wire the sub to present an 8 OHM load?
3) What brand amps should I be looking at?
4) What gauge wiring for the amp? Brands?

My setup: Panasonic HU with XM Radio, 50W X 4 max (CQ-C5301U)
4 Infinity Reference 6.5 in. speakers with Dynamat Kits

Thank you for your time and expertise,
Mike

Use 12Gauge speaker wire

2) What specs should I be looking for in an amp for this setup? Mono vs. 2-Channel? Class A-B vs. D? RMS/Peak Wattage for the 2 OHM load from the sub? Or should I wire the sub to present an 8 OHM load?
A nice 2ohm stable monoblock would work well

3) What brand amps should I be looking at?
Keep with in the mainstream lines and you should be fine We have a JBL CS300.1 they are just under $200, and a Clarion APX1300 which is around $225

4) What gauge wiring for the amp? Brands?
Minimum 8gauge but recommend 4gauge.

Thumbs up Thanks!

Thank you for your recommendations. They will make the next steps much easier.
A few clarifications:
1) Does brand matter when it comes to amp wiring kits?
2) What RMS/Peak wattage should I be looking for in a 2 OHM-stable mono amp?

Thank you,
Mike

#1 you need to look at them ,look at the parts inside it
#2 the higher/bigger the better

Your speaker is rated 250 rms / 1000 peak.

I like my RMS rating on the amp to be somewhere in-between.

For that speaker 3-400 w rms is the biggest amp you should have, but even then, you have to be careful. If you EVER drive it into clipping, it will damage the speaker.
You need to be careful with the gain setting and volume control.
Most people blow up speakers from showing off, trying to show/impress their friends with how loud you can go. Then they sell it - NIB.
Always remove your faceplate when car goes for service, so the mechanics can't play with how loud you can go.

you have to be careful with amps (to small or too big ) thay can kill a speaker fast
look into what will happen to your speaker if under powered and if over powered

1) Does brand matter when it comes to amp wiring kits?
Bigger named kits will be a more true to gauge wire. You get what you pay for but even a cheaper kit in a 4 gauge will be ok.

2) What RMS/Peak wattage should I be looking for in a 2 OHM-stable mono amp?
That sub in a sealed enclosure of the size will handle 400Wrms all day long. Do not go by the Peak power ratings.

Setup recommendations

Finished installing sub and amp and lined trunk with B-Quiet sound deadening material. Used 4-gauge wire kit and attached sub to top of enclosure.

Please advise re: best adjustments (gain, crossover, bass boost, etc.) for following equipment:

Pioneer-7200M
Mono Power Amplifier with 800 Watts Max. Power

2-Ohm Mono Stable
Variable Crossover (40 ~ 240Hz)
Selectable Bass Boost

CEA 2006 Specifications:
Output Power (2 Ohm, <=1% THD) 360 Watts x 1
Peak Music Power 800 Watts
Number of Channels 1
Continuous Power (2 ohm) 360W x 1
Frequency Response 10Hz ~ 240Hz
Total Harmonic Distortion 0.03%
Input Level Control Hi-Volt (400mV ~ 6.5v)
Built-in Crossover Variable LPF
Crossover Frequency Range 40~240Hz, -12dB/Oct.
Bass Level Control 50Hz, 0/6/9/12dB

One Infinity Reference Series 1052W 10 inch subwoofer (DVC @ 4 OHMS each, 250 watts RMS, 1000 watts Peak) mounted in a Bass Slammer sealed enclosure (.85 cu. ft.)

Panasonic HU with XM Radio, 50W X 4 max (CQ-C5301U)

4 Infinity Reference 6.5 in. speakers with Dynamat Kits

Thank you for any advice you may have. I'm more interested in SQ and a seamless integration of the bass signal with the rest of the sound spectrum.
