Amp/Sub Impedence Question
#1
I'm currently interested in an MTX Thunder 282 amplifier. On the MTX website it shows 70w x 2 @ 4 ohms, and also 280w bridged @ 4 ohms, based on these specs should the bridged wattage actually be @ 2ohms?
I'm wondering this due to the fact that there is a sale on an MTX Thunder 4500 subwoofer which is a dual 4 ohm coil, and I am curious wether or not i will be able to properly power this sub, based on the specifications given on the MTX website.
If the bridged power is as stated at 4 ohms, there is no way to wire a dual 4 ohm sub to 4 ohms correct?
Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

a duel 4 ohm sub and only be connected @ 2 or 8 ohms. there is no harm hooking it up at 8 ohms
your options for that amp are to get the maximum power out of it:
2 duel 4 ohm subs
1 single 4 ohm sub
1 duel 2ohm sub

Thank you very much for the input, i was almost certain i wouldn't be able to run that sub at full power with that amp. Instead i think might look into a 10" Infinity Reference 1041W sub with a single 4 ohm voice coil, any experience with this sub?
