Amp/Sub: What hardware/wiring do I need?
#1
Ok, I have the Alpine CDA-9807 mp3/cd player.
Now I have picked out my (mono)amp and sub, and they are:
Alpine MRP-M350 amp
Alpine SWR-1041D 10" subwoofer.
Now besides the box that will hold the sub, what
other hardware do I need? Like the wiring, fuse, etc. that is
needed to hook this all up and running?
I know places sell an AMP wiring kit but what exactly should
I look out for in this kit that is needed to have things running?

Basically, buy a 4awg amp wiring kit and ur set.
Along with some 12awg speaker cable should be good aswell.
Along with screws to mount the sub and amp...

AMp kits come in 2 flavours: there are 'Power' kits with just the power wiring, remote turn on, fuse, etc. and then there are 'System' kits that include and RCA and usually some speaker wire.
Eitehr choose a 'System' kit or remember to add an RCA and some speaker wire to a 'Power' kit.
If you like to buy in bulk or bits, you need:
~17feet of power wire. 8ga is fine for that amp but why not buy 4ga and then you can add or change as you want.
RCA cable - 9-12feet for under a front seet (6feet if you can run the cable down a centre console) or 12-17feet for a trunk mount depending on the car. Never hurts to have extra here so get the longer one...
Remote on lead - needs to be the same length as your RCAs. Optionally, get RCAs with this wire incorporated in it.
Underhood fuse - yes it is a must. A 60amp AGU fuse in a pipe holder is plenty.
Speaker wire - 6-10feet depending on how close your amp is to your box - remember you need 1-2feet for inside the box.
Ring terminal for the ground wire and the battery post. If you have a GM sidepost car then get a GM sidepost adaptor too <- makes life WAY easy for $5.
Incidentals like split loom, tie straps, electrical tape...
