Annoying noise
#12
do you have any neons or other high voltage devices mounted near your amps ?
If not it must be the amps noise floor you can hear..... if its really noisy it could be a factory defect.... or they might all be like that.... (poor design)
usually the level of the noise would drop as you reduce the gain... but it really depends on how the gain structure is setup...

ok...so heres my situation. i tracked down a freind of mine with a ta2600II he just bought and hasnt used yet, hooked iut up, same problem(in my car). so then i found a pioneer 2 channel, with only low pass, same problem. decided f-it, hooked my amp to a freinds power, ground, remote and rcas, with my speaker wire runs still in the car hooked to my speakers, same problem.
so know you might be thinking, alright this idiot pinched a wire somewhere to all of his speakers, well thats wat i thought, took em all out, nope, there fine, put the covers back down, same problem still. so i hooked a set of speakers up from the amp right to the speaker, like 4 feet away and held onto it, same problem still.
so im lost, ive tried these amps in more then one vehicle with the same problem. im so frustrated and confused i could drive my car into the lake. on one hand people are saying the amps fried on the other people are saying "its somethign else, but i dont know what"
and i cant get a hold of a decent amp to see if theres a diffrence or anything, the amps ive tried are either the same amp(same model) or 10+ years old.
at this point i dont care wat it is or wat it costs, i just want it gone..lol
Any ideas?
oh and there was a neon neer it(about 1.5-2 feet away), that was my first thought, its gone tho. and the noise dosnt lessen or gte louder with the gains or frequency changes.

like bypass the amp and just try deck power?
wow, ill have to try and remember how to do that....its been like 3 years at least since ive done that in one of my vehicles. i didnt even get a harness for my car, its still in there somewhere.
but ok, ill try that tommorow...and if it works fine, then wat? bad amp?

i did do that already. i hooked each speaker individually to each channel on each amps with no success. i know for a 100% fact theres nothing wrong with the rcas or speaker wire. and as i said before,
the amps make the noise even with no rcas attached to it. so thats whats really throwing me off. ill try deck power, and if the speakers work fine, i wont be surprised.
and if they still make the noise, bad crossovers on the new component set?...im just gonna run some wires from the back of the deck infront of my dash to my crossovers on the door and see if that does it, cuz thats really quick.
waht do you mean by bad install? just cuz ive gone over everyhting i can think of, mabey theres somethign im missing?

how have you fastend it to the car ?
try to undo the amp form the car (not the wires ) do not let the amp sit on a -neg- have a rug under it ,then try it (if the amp is getting two - neg's - that may do it to you "loop"
this is the crap i'm looking for in my set up now too but my set up has more crap going on then just this
