Eclipse 5441

Both units used and both units for the same price more or less... which one would you chose and why. Not for competing in SQ... just a decent replacement for a stock VW head unit.

Is that a 5441 or a cd5441(the cd5441 is 5 volt, motorized face, 01 model)?

Yea thats what it is... CD5441...

The thing is that I might not be runing an amp for the stock component speakers and just need to know is that eclipse will be OK with it... I owned alpine before and know what to expect there... I never had eclipse HU before and have no idea...

You cannot go wrong with the Eclipse, again how much are you paying for it?

Ohhhhhhhh and I had no idea ppl felt like this about Eclipse... I guess its one those things... once u go Eclipse you will never go back....

And I just read Dave MacKinnon's review of it the PasMag (older issue)... I kind of see what the deal is...

A buddy of mine has the 5441. It's a 2000/01 model. I helped him get it for him. Sounds great, makes me jealous...but it didn't cost near $300.

Just a heads up.

The 54410 is the newer model with motorized face, not the 5441...in case that confused anyone. If in fact it is the 54410, then it would be worth the money.

Q: Where are you getting this unit from?

EDIT: To clarify, the 5441 has simple front CD loading with fixed faceplate, 54410 is motorized. Both have ESN.

The Eclipse is a nice unit.. I would go for it over the alpine for sure.

^^ I agree with Chadxton, You may be able to find a better deal on the HU. (300 still much less than retail though).. I've seen a few 54410s for sale for around $200US
