ok...so we go to a judges training, we listen to all the stuff, we read the book, we buy out cd,s and blah blah blah........does that then make us good judges.....is experience judging not far more important......and i am going to regret saying this but.....i often wonder what some judges reference is....and by reference i mean their reference system
This is not to say all Ontario judges are perfect. We're all human after all. Some will be better then others, but that just the way it goes. All judges need to start from somwhere. The more they do the more they will learn. I would say Jason does a great job with training and shows. I've been to training every year since 2002, and I learn somthing new every year. If you decide to go a head with IASCA will Jason as the trainer, I know you will learn as well. |
i need to ask does the -neg- need to have a cap over it ? If so why?
When the IASCA judge told me that and lost points on it (i just do not see why ) . i do see on the +pos+ ,I see why 6"on the wire ,but i just miss this and do not see it in the book .i know how he said it I need to dip the suv in rubber if he is right Form what I see you need an experienced judge out west that can judge and not the ones you have Transition problem of the rulebook into Canadian will be hard LOL |

If I remember correctly all +12volt must be protected. Not gound.
If one little mistake by a judge is turning you off of shows then you need to find another hobby. All kinds of mistakes are made in every automotive sport. If the judge learns for their mistakes, then I'm ok with it. I've put a lot of time and money in my car, but I dont complain about the judges. If there is a major issue, I will bring it up to the head judge to see what can be done. Regardless, I always have fun. |
I always have a chuckle when customers go through extravagent lengths to protect the ground wire from touching any metal..(other than the possibility of causing a groundloop) what's the worst that would happen....it would get more grounding surface..and thus a bette ground. ohhh scary stuff.

if you need 2 days to do this judging test and do not get the car is neg .......
i would like to do the judging test just to see what it is . but 2 day and fly and pay pay pay no no no if it is out west i will go i like going to the shows but i see the shows ending out here on the most part form the $ on the judge cost (if you need to get the W.A judge up here) If one little mistake by a judge is turning you off of shows then you need to find another hobby (this is not why i will go to a new hobby) why i will go to a new hobby is there will be no car shows out west ! |

Defro.
No one has forgetten about you. I leave for Daytona next week and I will find out all I need to know after my meetings down there. I can get much more accomplished down there in person then over the phone. AND A FYI. I am in talks with one of your peers about holding a training out there this year. NO one from out WEST is going to have to fly to Ontario or SBN. I working on coming out there. That being said there is going to have to be enough interest to make it possible. Lastly U have my personal contact info Defro, and u can reach me anytime so I dont need to be reminded here. I do check my emails and my CCA inbox everyday. I will not have any new info posted here until I get back! Cheers |
I would be interested in the judges training
I do like the idea of starting by judging single point events first and moving up Having judged SPL events and rules in the past, my experience has been that "simple" shows required a degree of balance and reason; however, something like IASCA requires stringent and consistent adherence to rules and sanctions. |
iam in for training just let me know where and how much...
