Well....what a day that has been for me...

I showed up at The Car Salon fully set that I wasn't going to compete...in particular when I was told reg. was $30 rather than the $15 I was told over the phone yesterday...

That was til a good friend(You know who you are...and some of you from the show know who too) showed up and offered to loan me the extra cash til I got back from my trip to Winnipeg...

I GOT TO COMPETE!!

And OMG.....What a great day it was!!!

My first run.....136.4.....a personal best and a best on an 8 Track to the best of my knowledge...

after this run,I felt we needed to do something to get my db's up or I didn't stand a chance...

So LBKC and I went out to the car,he did some "voodoo" on the box he built....

We gave it a test run.....HOLY DB DRAG BATMAN!!

Second run....oh by the way..in testing the other day....138.0!!...not too shabby for 30 yr old technology huh?....

Oh yeah....the second run.....everyone sitting down.....


remember...off an 8 Track Tape now....

But because they pushed LBKC over to my class,I got yet another 2nd place...but don't take me wrong...Congrats Rob!!!You deserve it....and thanks for all you do for Team 8 Track!!

And....also received a small donation from a family friend today as well towards my trip to Winnipeg...

Sooo...this has been a HUGE day for not only my personal life, but a huge day for Team 8 Track as a whole...

Thanks to those who responded to my posting last night....your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated...

Anyway,as far as I know my next comp. will be the July 27 show at Auto Temp....I will be there come hell or high water...

If I can afford the time off work and can get some one to cover me,I would like to try and make the FS show on the 26,but we will see when time gets closer......

That is a sweet score for an 8-track!! That mic was quite low as well. I only hit a 144 as opposed to my normal 148-9 and Dale (greenhornet) only hit a 154 instead of his normal high 150's/ low 160's. Trophys were way too small though (about 4 inches, not joking). My inhumans came in just now, so I am hoping to be louder for the next show.

 

Congrats to the both of you for doing well in SPL.
