Any 12" DVC Sub suggestions?

I just bought an Alpine mrp1000 amp. I'm running a 12" Clif Design 4 ohm sub in a custom box made for one 12". The amp pushes 600 watts at 4 ohms and 1000 at 2 ohms.
As you can appreciate I would like to try a 2 ohm sub for more punch.

I'd like to find myself a sub that would perform well with this amp. I listen to rock mostly and would like something tight.

Any suggestions as to what to look for?

Stay 4 ohm if tight is the objective... The lower the impedance, the less "control" there is over the voice coil(s). The point of lower impedance is higher power output, but judging from your expectations, a 4 ohm load and a higher powered amp would be the solution... I am also assuming by more "punch" you mean SPL... Or output if you're unfamiliar with that term

That's interesting thanks for the help. :)

Well lets say I want more spl... what would you consider to be some of the more quality 12" dvc's for output?

... then you have Ascendant Audio, Treo, Image Dynamics, and a whole lot more.

Is the box ported or sealed? Airspace? Is it in a trunk?

Awesome.
The sub is in a sealed box. And it's in the trunk.

Alpine type x 12 and use your 2ohm power. You should be able to find an X around the 300-350 price point...extremely tight bass particularly in a smaller sealed box.

What's the power-handling of the Clif 12? I don't think you'll get much more SPL with +400W in a sealed box.

I suggest the Fi SSD (800W RMS) with the power-handling add-on's ($50), for $229 total + tax & shipping. Use a ported box.

Spl: 86.1dB 1W/1m
Sealed box: .7-1.2 cuft
Ported box: 1.8-2.5 cuft @ 33Hz
Displacement: 0.14cuft

D1 ohm (wiring into 1000W @ 2 ohm)
Fs: 30.1 Hz
Qts: .36
Vas: 36.5 (1.28898534 cuft)

Sealed:
.7 cuft = Q .6068 @ 50.74 Hz
1.2 cuft = Q .5185 @ 43.35 Hz
