Is 'any' amp better then no amp?

Question: Is a bad/cheap amp generally better then no amp at all? Kinda like the age old question is bad sex better then no sex at all?

I'm not looking to build a show winner, just drive what I've got as best as my budget can afford, which isn't much. I'm running stock head unit with 4 Infinity REF6002Is, no sub. I'm going for a stealth install so I'm trying to make due with the stock head unit.

I can't afford alot for an amp, is picking up a cheap amp worth it? I see amps from Legacy, Pyle, Pyramid, Rockwood ... all cheap as borcsh. Understanding that you get what you pay for, will a cheap amp still be better then no amp?

Buy a used 30W*2 Alpine/RF/... amp for the same price

Try to buy it locally. I do not recommend ebay but that is your choice.

search the for sale items on this forum

Buy a decent used amp.
If you take a quick look at the internals on any of those "cheap amps", say the rockwood for instance, you'll see why.
Lots of deals to be found on eBay, or elsewhere.
What is your budget?

How about one of these?
Nakamichi PA-1004 (new) for around $135USD plus shipping (not eBay).
With deals like that around, why would you buy a "garbage brand"?

Go here http://www.xscargo.com/
They have one in Winnipeg too, they have decent amps which are cheap, and better than the ones you listed, I've used a couple and I give them 2 thumbs up.

I saw a few very interesting amps recently on a webstore.
I had to order one since I had heard good things about the brand back when.

They have a 4 channel that you might be interested in for the price.

I'll have to check it out when it arrives.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I'm guessing the answer to my question is 'yes you need an amp'.

Hammer ... the Nakamichi looks impressive but I couldn't find it cheaper then 229.00 USD. The BMA looks interesting too, but I've never heard of them before? Will research further. thanks.

90 Celi ... I'll consider it. Looks good.

JohnnyToronto ... Its funny you mentioned XS Cargo as it was this amp that lead to my question originally.

Any idea on MA Audio? I seem to recognise the name, this is a 4 channel thats in my price range and being that I can pick it up locally is an added bonus.
