I want to run a 16 volts signal via symbilink (balanced) from a Eclipse CD8053 to a pair of Zapco AG 350.

The input sensivity of the amps are 5 volts. Are there any risks of damaging the amps or experimenting significant sound deteriorations?

Plus, Am I gonna lose all the benefits of having a deck with such a high voltage if the inputs of the amps are 5 volts?

Thanks

lappy

I think your suspecions are well founded.. driving those amps with 16v of input signal will probably drive them well into distortion...

If you do it, your volume control will be stupid out of whack on the deck (ie amp is screaming full tilt with the deck at 1/4 volume). As haunz said, anything louder than 1/4 volume would be pushing them into distortion.
