well, i heard from megahurtz that in this years annual pas mag edition it features an article with the top 100 competitiors...i heard that i was in it!...does anybody know when/if they mail a copy of this edition to the subscribers? do they sell this one on the shelves too?

DUMPED 06-27-2005 11:26 PM

don't believe what they tell you or what you've heard. They are always trying to sell a subscription and if need be they tell you they are doing competitor profiles to sell you one. I know cause I've fallen for that scam and many of my other friends. Just some advise

RedZone 06-28-2005 12:45 AM

JordyO 06-28-2005 06:13 AM

Just some advise, I have about three issues from the last year with competitor profiles.

The SPL Apprentice 06-28-2005 09:04 AM

pasmag sucks anyways. NO spl in there.

Dereck Waller 06-28-2005 10:28 AM

Hmm, half the competitor profiles are of SPL competitors, and they feature good looking SPL vehicles when they are built. They have good coverage of SPL events (well better than any other mag out there). If you want SPL articles, why don't you write some articles and submit them?

Dereck Waller 06-28-2005 03:52 PM

Hmm, I just opened up a couple issues I have close by, Ken Lambert's SPL Astro fetured on page 54, then in competitor profiles I see, Michael Hughes, Mike Jones, Michael Mueller, Nathan Munson, Team Hertz, James Jean, Jay Lovelace, Jim Jean, Team Fast Forward (two of them), Horizon Audio, Jonathan Smith, Team Underground, Tony Lemert, Rodney Busch, Scott Owens, Scott Van Riper, Team Baldwin Creations, Team FX, Bassman and Danielle Mayes, Team Walrus, Anthony Lloyd, Ben Wenzell, Chris Norris, Chris Cecco, Roy French, Terry Jackson, Tommy McKinnie, Troy Irving and Jason Teves.

IN the other issue they have coverage of SBN and Speedorama.

As for feature articles on SPL cars, lets face it, even if most competitors gave you enough info and photo's of their vehicles to write a story, how many people want to look at ugly installs?

They used to do good coverage of the FS events. I wonder what happened, perhaps no one is submitting articles about their events. You can do that you know.

Sassmaster 06-29-2005 06:56 AM

PAS used to do a great job of covering events, now it's just "we went to some shows, there were some cool cars made by the usual people, and we saw lots of girls and vendors" then there's 20 pics mostly of the exterrior of cars, and that's it. the rest of the magazine is 3 featured vehicles with 4 pages each and 250 pages of soft-core porn advertising

Team Shadow 06-29-2005 07:08 AM

coffeyman is there in plain english. so is fx audio and some other dudes.

cool thing about your car: custom painted hood.

come one man buy a subscription come on come on. oh yeah i forgot. we dont sell them. so i guess i cant sell you a subscription. coffeyman if you have trouble finding one. i can scan it and send you the file. pm me.

what Sassmaster said ^^^ their event coverage is a joke. their product review is a joke. their softcore porn ads are 3/4 of magazine.

they had IASCA 'coverage' in that issue u are talking about. they mentioned some canadian IDBL guys all in one sentace separated by a come AND THATS IT. They didnt even say what we hit or how we placed.....Yuli got 2nd in his class and Keyur got 3rd, u would think they would mention that atleast.

they did the same about db drag finals and all canadian competitors there, just mention their names in one sentace separated by a coma.....what a shame.

Team Shadow 06-29-2005 10:25 AM

wow, then it ust be quite a amazing feat for coffeyman to get his car with 2 pics and a small profile in a mag not dominated by spl. great job dude.

PAS mag is soooooo ghay!! They also have me in this same issue, with a picture of myself and my vehicle as well as my system......from 1.6 years ago!!!

they also have a few of ther guys from around here with profiles and pics......most of us dont even have those vehicles/set ups anymore.

so, DWVW, in your face!!!

PAS mag did feature me and my ghetto ass wiring/install hahahahahaahahahah

so i guess this proves my point further. PAS mag is so ghay they will even feature the ghetto'est spl install, even if its nearly 2 years old!!!!

In your face? You want a permanent holiday?

You are wearing out your welcome. Quickly.

Prolifik 07-05-2005 01:25 PM

do you care to explain why??

he had a few posts saying that no mag wants to publish an ugly and ghetto looking spl install.

and now that the spl guys can strike back and prove him oh so wrong u start talking about a permanent holiday????

Dereck Waller 07-05-2005 01:33 PM

Any pics of the install? In thought not, the competitor profiles are just some recognition for the people who work hard. As for the systems being so old, do you know what the lead time is on the special edition? I though not. You haven't proved me wrong sorry.

Prolifik 07-05-2005 01:40 PM

there is a pic of the install buddy.

the long lead time only contributes to me proving you wrong.

i remember you said that they did a competitor feature on some spl guys.........yes they did, 1.6 years LATER!!! They took my profile at AudioThunder 2003........u notice the year??? 2 years old.......thats not a profile anymore, thats a lesson in Canada's spl history. I dont have the car nor the set up anymore.

and secondly, they did feature a ghetto ass, 2 year old spl install. you said they would not, but the pic of my install is RIGHT THERE! sorry there is no pic of my firewall as im sure MANY want to see the firewall.

and i think you just admited in your post that i work hard........awwwwe thanks sweety

Prolifik 07-05-2005 01:59 PM

and its not me, there is a whole bunch of us spl guys with our ghetto installs which you said will never be featured anywhere unless we build it like Norris' super street car.........

Dereck Waller 07-05-2005 02:00 PM

Do you even know what a feature in a magazine is? What page are you on? How many pics are there? How big are the pics? A feature takes up a few pages, has a complete story to it, and will have pics of pretty much all the system. Why would I not say you worked hard? Just because you have the most ghetto (actually probably tied with 1/2 the SPL world) cut in the firewall does not mean you didn't work hard on the rest, heck just attending many shows qualifies as hard work in my opinion.

Prolifik 07-05-2005 02:09 PM

there are a number of us spl guys with many pics of our installs, maybe its not a feauture on me or anyone else specific but its still a feature at large on our spl community!

and no i dont know the page numbers, i dont have the magazine with me, matter of fact i didnt even bother wasting my money on it. i just looked at it and put it back on the shelve for some ricer to buy.

crazy4bass 07-05-2005 03:43 PM

Prolifik has the most getto set up I have ever seen, especially at AUDIO THUNDER last year hahah
but know one can knock a guy who is the current and probly year long leading stock 2 record holder for Canada to be a record holder takes time, time for testing and many installs to profect or get loud and shows he has put in some HARD WORK. Prolifik had helped many SPL competitors out. helped me at my first show AUDIO THUNDER 5th 145.6 with a single 12
PS I wonder if I could get into a audio mag, not likely
