Anyone here decoding HDCD's in-car?
#1
For those of you that know what HDCD's are, is anyone actually using a CD or DVD player that can actually decode them?
I ask because I recently ordered a New portable DVD player that I will be installing permanately in my car and it decodes HDCD's.
I can't wait to see how it sounds in 20-bit and hear whether there's really a difference or not...
I plan on using my Dire Straits: Sultans of Swing HDCD to find out...

We had a Monster Cable trainer tell us that HDCD was a recording method, essentially 20bit encryption. I know I've listened to both an HDCD and non Disc of the same title and have noticed the difference on my CD player in car, I don't know how much difference a "HDCD Ready" Cd player would make if one exists.
Guess's who owns HDCD, our good friends at Microsoft.
Guess Bill really is trying to take over the world..
