My buddy has been waiting forever for FutureShop to get in a new line of subs. He has 1 12" Rockford HX2 that is still under warrenty, but the sub is blown. The problem is that FutureShop has NOTHING that comes close to the specs of the HX2. He has been waiting for over three months to get a new sub.

FutureShop said that they are getting in a new line...soon, but that doesn't mean anything because they seem to be full of BS.

Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

 

Replacement for your friend's HX2 will no doubt be the P3 (Stage 3) series. The SKU is in the system, but I think a lot of stores are still waiting for shipments. Products have been extremely slow coming in this year, and it's frustrating for everyone. I can understand why SCL may be a bit behind, but I haven't heard wind of any reason why Fosgate or Harman is so slow at rolling out some of their product line.

 

The stuff is hitting the stores over the next 2 weeks.

 

They should be getting the new MTX 9500 Competition subs soon shouldnt they? I was talking to a guy from FS down here who said he attended a work shop on them not too long ago.

Yes. The subs and one of the new amps are in the new flyers, start date on the 21st & 22nd of May.

 

WOW, i just visited MTX.com and i saw the ones ur talking about. They do look pretty sharp. How much are they gonna be going for?

The new rockford's are of lower build quality than the old models, apparently?

I could be off, but while a Punch HX2 has like a 3 inch VC, the new replacement only has a 2.5, etc..

Maybe this is just nitpicking and stat-leaning a bit heavily, but when I was shoppin around, a few dealers recommended searching for a set of the old models as opposed to waiting for the new ones, due to a 'go with what you know' sort of approach.
