Apine Vs. JL

what would you guys/girls choose

12"alpine type R
12"JL W-0
or possibly
12"JL W-1

for sound, quality and loudness

obviously the type R is more expensive and probable better, but i remember hereing some w-0 and some w-1 awhile ago and thinking damn those pound.

Before I opened this thread I thought you were going to be comparing the Type-R to a W7 and I was thinking "Ahhh JL all the way" lol! However, in this case I'd probably go with the Alpine too. But, in the right enclosure and setup the other two will sound really nice as well. I had a friend that had a few of the W-0's and yeah, they did pound and sound really nice. Especially since you can find them around now for not too much. A few of those will still sound really good.

The R is not very efficient, so you'll need a bit more power to get the same spl, but it will handle more, so if you're going with more than 200 RMS per sub, stick with the Alpine.

There are better choices out there tho for the buck....why only those two?
