Smile Atomic 2200.1

Hi there. First of all I would like to say sorry if I am posting this in the wrong area, I'm a newbie to this awesome site and with time I will be one of you hopefully.

I have 2 questions:

1) When an amp is a mono block amp, why do some of them have 2 pairs of positive and negative terminals? (Like my atomic 2200.1)

2) What would be the best way to set up my subs? This is what I have to work with:
- 8 Magnavox 10" svc 4 ohm subs which I think can take up to 4 or 500 watts.
- Atomic 2200.1D amp which throws out 2200 at 1ohm.

Any help in detail would be great. Thanks.

2 terminals for ease of wiring
no perfect match for your subs... you will either end up at 2 ohms or 0.5 ohms I would say wire them to 2 ohms...
put 2 subs in series with each other this will bring u up to 8 ohms...( make 4 sets like this)
then wire the 4 sets in parralel
this will bring you down to 2 ohms.

wiring all subs in parralel will give you 0.5 ohms... its ok for competition burps... but I dont recommend it for daily driving

Thanks for the help. So if the subs were svc 8 ohm run in parallel would I end up with a 1 ohm load? I'm honestly not sure if these are 4 or 8ohm subs. My buddy seems to think that they are 4 but he's not 100%. *They are Megavox subs not Megnavox, my mistake.* Thanks.

yes...your assumption is correct... if they are 8 ohms; putting them all in parralel will yield 1 ohm final load
