attn dealers

warning to all retailers

all the company's i've delt with in the last 22 years
begin the warranty from date of sale to the customer
and take the invoice of the customers as proof of purchase

the company that goes by global semicondutor practices

i found out this week that they begin the warranty from the date of the retailers purchase
also in order to get warranty on the product you must provide them with proof that you purchased the product from them

even if you regularly purchase that product from them

this in my eyes means they are a retail outlet and not a wholesaler or distributor

thing is the unsuspecting customer could be stuck with product that has no warranty
unless they send it back to the manufacturer

product that this applys to in canada are xxx audiopipe zebra

i contacted audiopipe in this matter and they will honor the warranty
thing is shipping is worth more than the product

needless to say i will nolonger order product from them or recommend any other dealer to
and will be advicing all sales reps of there decieving practices

I have been dealing with this company for 2 years now and have never had an issue as they state the warranty is manufacture 1 year not over the counter. Most companies have upto a 90 day over the counter and then beyond that its the remainder of the year to the manufacture. And most people and manufacture do this. It is not uncommon. You pay for shipping there and they pay return shipping. What is the product? We have always been taken care of with any issues we may have had in the past. And this should not be a reflection of the brands.

the problem is that the warranty starts from the date that the retailer purchases the product from global
all the companys i've delt with the warranty starts from the day that the customer purchases it from you the retailer
meaning that if you purchase a speaker it sits in your storage room for 9 months
global will only supply the customer 3 months warranty on a product they claim to give one year warranty
thats there policy and as a company that calls itself a distributor
i say its bullshit and all retailers should be aware of this wacked out policy

Well I have never had an issue plus it 1 Year MANUFACTURE warranty not distributor warranty this is industry standard. And I had a sub box for 5 months in stock the sub went bad and I sent it to Global and they replaced it no problem.

all the distributors i deal and have delt with honor the warranty from the date of sale to the customers
global does not
simple fact im pointing out so that people will know
tell me another distributor that does what global does

smartass i don't think your getting my point
your example don't reflect what i'm posting
if you have a unit in stock the warranty for that piece begins from the date you bought it not the customer
and that is my point
from what i have seen in 22 years in business
this is not an industry standard

Alright, ill disable your Pinhead account perm

But your comment was they give you less warranty. But they dont because the warranty is through the manufacture and they go by the date of sale to the customer and thats all that matters. So if I had the product for 1 year and then sold it the customer would get a 1 year through the manufacture from the date of sale as long as you are authorized as a reseller. This is common. You dont expect the distributor to warranty after you having it in stock for a year do you? They would be all ready moved on to the next years product line up. This happens at most all of the suppliers. But I am not about to start typing all my suppliers out that would be stupid and I believe this is what this may all be about. Getting contacts not sure though becuase I have not had one issue yet pertaining to this. And I have sent stuff back over the course of 2 years. And you are a new user to the site and straight away start flaming about warranty issues for retailers. Something that should not be conversated about in the general section but in the Black Void industry section.
