hey all,

been out of the Audio scene for a few years, but my fronts are dying and it's time to upgrade.

anyways, does anyone know what happenned to Audio Lines in Burnaby? I had been planning to support these guys. If they went to a diff shop, please let me know which one.

Otherwise I guess I will deal with Speaker City on 4th? I'm looking for some custom installed 6.5" serperates in my Civic doors... probably Focal or AVI. What other mid/hi-end shops would you all suggest for a nice SQ install that won't break the bank?

They are one or two blocks east of Royal Oak and Kingsway.

5352 Grimmer Street

Right before Grimmer runs into Kingsway (on the south side).

Nice building (huge).

why is that Dukk? i have always been treated super well at Audio Lines and their work looked awesome

i haven't even set foot in a shop in almost 4yrs. so it's all slowly coming back.

i'm just looking for something in the $500 range to go in my civic's doors. $500 cause that's all I can afford. powered by Rockford 360a2.

i'm thinking the custom install work would be at most an enclosure/baffle in the door and wiring. maybe a little deadener in the doors. any idea what i should expect to pay for that? i honestly have no idea as up til now I did my own work...

thanks for all your help guys!

I have to agree, Audiolines IS the top end shop in Vancouver. Just so you know, Speaker City is "moving" as well. I heard an ad on the radio but could not figure out if it actually meant moving (there was no mention of their new location) or if it really meant that they're closing.
Good luck!

thanks guys. i forgot that audiolines doesnt have AVI. i liked the sound, and it's always cool to support local companies

can anyone comment as to what price range to expect to pay for the install described above?

basically, how much for a quality install that will allow say the Focal Polyglass or equivalent price AVI to perform optimally. this is why i'm willing to pay for an install, as I can definitely install them but i'm not going to get the best SQ out of them. but i don't have $500+ for the install either...

i suppose i should just go get some estimates, but i'd like to have a ballpark idea before that
