Audiobahn vs Alpine?

I'm just 17, and I drove to a friends house to show him my new system. Two Alpine Type R 12's.

His brother said that he would have to install his Audiobahns and show my what a real system sounds like.

My question is, I've always been under the impression that Audiobahn was almost a Wal*Mart brand? Are they reputable? Better than Alpine?

lmao.. audiobahn was probably made by the scraps that alpine leaves behind.. if your box is prefab box and he has a custom box. and both of you's have the same power. well maybe he will have a louder one..

its all in the box design, the tuning, and the cars design that will decide witch is better. but really audiobahn sux ***** compared to alpine. frig even sony is better than audiobahn hahahahha...

Well, yeah they are older, from what I picked up from conversation. I'm pretty sure he has 2 Audiobahn 15s and an Audiobahn amp, I'm not sure about the wattage.

I'm running the Type Rs with 550w RMS to each.

Audiobahn, responsible for the global shortage of chrome, they are also long out of business.

A buddy Donny had 2 of the older 15" Audiobahns on an older Orion HCCA and they kicked the crap out of his Thunderbird. They took 1000 rms each NO PROBLEM.

I once heard three 12" Type R's in a truck by peeking my head in and the bass was so strong I think I would have passed out if I didnt retract my head. I also heard a single 15" Audiobahn set-up and all it did is bottom out and farted and I could prolly last in that car for hours, but I had better things to do. These were my only two experiences with Alpine Type R and unknown Audiobahn. Hope that helps.

alpine makes a decent product. they will outperform almost anything from audiobahn, some older audiobahn may make alot of noise, but sq doesn't compare with your type R's (while still going loud)

every company has good and bad products, i have a lot of audiobahn stuff for a few years now and never a problem. alpine makes some garbage and so does audiobahn. all depends on what you buy.
