AudioThunder

Congrats to all those who attended and better yet competed. Unfortunately I didnt have a chance to check out all the competitor cars but I heard some great things. As for the no SQ thing, who knows, maybe next year.
I saw and talked to a few of the folks in this forum and if I seemed spaced out I apologize. Having 2 booths this year (JL AUDIO & KICKER) with visitors who flew up from the factory as well as the KICKER XRV Truck was a handful to say the least.
It's fair to say that this has been the best AudioThunder in years and next year will be even better. The folks at Performance World did a great job and I'm glad they took the chance on having a nightlife atmosphere. I think it gave AudioThunder it's own unique personality.
Finally a sincere thanks to the exhibitors. As a member of the industry my personal goal is to make the brands we distribute shine brighter than anyone else but at the same time, as an enthusiast who loves this hobby I was thrilled to have the guys from Fusion, Kankar, Soundstream/Power Acoustik, Focal, mobile Dynamics, Korbon etc. show up and dedicate the time, money and manpower to work this 3 day event. Not trying to toot our own horn but what impressed me most was what happened at the end of the show. We had the guys from KICKER and the guys from JL AUDIO which are two very competitive companies band together to tear down each others booths, banners and signs regardless of who they worked for. It was a pleasant reminder that we are all just a bunch of guys who love what we do, we love our hobby and have respect for one another and some of us are lucky enough to get paid at the same time.

I was impressed in a big way with the "look" of HALL 5 that we were all in. I thought it looked a lot better then most of the other halls at this show. I hope it gave out the message loud and clear to the manufacturers and distributors that were not there that they need to be at this show and that it's a class act and not to be missed. Also, was awesome to get to see some of the other distributors and talk to them about the up and coming season in the car audio industry here in Canada. I'm pleased to say that the attitiude is positive and people are excited. It sounds like there is going to be a lot of shows this year and a lot of events happening where you will see a car audio presence.
As for SQ at Audio Thunder next year, I truly hope so. But it will depend on numbers at the end of the day. If the SQ scene in Ontario is large in 2004, I think a very good case can be made to make this portion of the show happen in 2005. I really hope it will happen as it's an important part of the whole car audio environment. SPL isn't everything
